The refrigerator is not a silent technique, therefore it makes sounds during operation. When you hear a quiet murmur of Freon in the tubes or a rare "roar" of the compressor when turned on, this is not a breakdown, but the normal functioning of the systems. If the refrigerator is cracking violently, this is a sign of a malfunction, the elimination of which should not be put off the shelf.
Important! Pay attention when a crack appears - when you open or close a door to accurately find the cause of the breakdown.
Consider the causes of cod in modern refrigerators and ways to resolve this problem.
When cracking is not a problem
If the refrigerator is new, the crack is often not associated with technical problems. During operation, the systems are periodically heated and cooled. The materials used by the manufacturer in the manufacture of equipment expand and contract when the temperature regime changes. This crackle disappears over time.
If several months have passed, and the crack did not stop, it's time to sound the alarm. Particularly quick to respond when a previously quiet refrigerator began to make unusual sounds and crackles.
Just brought a fridge from the store, and it pops? Turn the device with the back wall towards you and unscrew the transport bolts on the compressor - they create noise and can cause a serious malfunction. If the equipment is under warranty, repair of the breakdown will be paid, because the case is not guaranteed and arises from the user's negligence. Instructions for dismantling the fastener are indicated in the user manual.
Another non-critical case in which refrigeration equipment (XO) crackles during operation is an uneven floor in the apartment or incorrectly adjusted legs. Rearrange the equipment or tighten the legs.
If all else fails, look for the cause of the failure in the systems and nodes. We consider the possible causes of the breakdown below.
The refrigerator is cracking: the main reasons
Such factors lead to cod:
- Some fasteners are not adjusted.
- Have you been using XO for a long time? The compressor has broken or lost its performance, which is why the noise started.
- When switching the temperature regimes, plastic parts, as we said above, expand. Try to ensure a stable temperature in the chambers, do not open the door for a long time, do not lay on the shelves a lot of uncooled products.
- The reason is that the parts come into contact with the motor tubes. The compressor may touch the rear grill and other accessories.
- Depreciation of motor shock absorbers.
- Poor capacitor mounting. Crackling is accompanied by perceptible vibration.
Electricity problems
Sometimes XO bursts and sparks at the same time. So, there are problems with the electrical component. What you need to inspect in the first place:
- power outlet;
- power cord and plug;
- conduct wiring maintenance;
- control module - it may be burned out and makes a crack (the refrigerator will stop working or the lights will blink on the control panel).
For models with No Frost
Models with “Know Frost” are arranged somewhat differently than usual. They have a fan in their design that circulates the cooled air in the chambers. In the event of a mechanical or systemic malfunction or in the absence of annual defrosting, the cooler blades may become ice. Then there will be noise, and crackling, and rattle.
What to do? It is necessary to carry out an emergency defrost. No Frost models defrost 24 hours. If the sound does not disappear after turning on the network, then there are other breakdowns in the system.
Plug replacement
If you find that the crack comes from the plug, you should replace it with a new one. Do not try to repair this part by wrapping it with electrical tape, otherwise you will get a potential source of possible fire or electric shock in your home. In refrigerators of all brands - Indesit, Atlant, Ariston, Samsung and others - the replacement of the plug occurs depending on the type of plug:
- If the plug understands then a torn or broken wire can be cut, stripped and installed inside the plug.
Important! The wire can only be mounted inside!
- At non-separable go for a new fork. Do not try to cut the cord at the place of damage and twist it - for your safety, avoid such actions.
Choosing the right plug
Decide which plug you need - with or without grounding. For the refrigerator, plugs with a grounding pin are needed. But, if you live in an old-built apartment building, where a grounding conductor is not provided in the wiring, do not waste money.
When choosing, pay attention to electrical power - it should be higher than the power that the refrigerator consumes.
Replacement occurs as follows:
- Strip the ends of the power cord from the side where the broken plug was screwed.
- Twist the cable more tightly.
- If possible, tin the ends with a soldering iron.
- Disassemble the purchased plug. Near the hole where the cord passes, there is a clamp that secures the cable - then press the cord to them so as not to pull it out of the plug if you sharply pull the wire for an emergency disconnection of the equipment.
- Screw the ends of the wire to the terminals in the plug. You can stick the conductor into the hole and clamp it with a bolt, or twist it with a ring and hold the seal under the washer. The choice of method depends on the design features of the plug.
- Tighten the cable using the provided cable tie.
- Assemble the fork.
- Check the operation of the device.
Important! If you change the ground plug, remember or photograph the wires so as not to confuse the ground wire with others. As a rule, this is a yellow-green cable, but it is better to be safe. Also note that the ground wire is always connected to the metal part of the refrigerator cabinet.
If after replacing the plug the cracking stopped, you did everything right. And if all the reasons listed in the review are excluded and checked, and the sound does not disappear, contact the service center to find the true cause of the failure.
