The atypical “behavior” of the automatic machine is a clear sign of its malfunction. Often there is a situation when the washing machine erases without stopping for more than two hours instead of the usual one. A logical question arises: what to do? In any problematic situation, you need to start with a search for a breakdown and only then move on to action.
Why the machine does not finish washing
The washing machine has a complex structure with many mechanisms that wear out over time and require repair or replacement. Therefore, the reasons why washing does not stop for a long time are very different. Some may indicate the failure of component parts, others - about improper operation or connection of the equipment itself.
If the AGR erases longer than usual, this indicates the following:
- malfunction of the water supply system;
- incorrect connection of the drain hose;
- clogging of the drain system;
- breakdown of the pressure switch;
- failure of the heating element (TENA);
- malfunction of the electronic module.
To understand which violations in the work of the AGR can be eliminated independently, and which only with the help of a wizard, you should learn more about them.
Problems with the water system
This is one of the most common problems of SMA. If for some reason water does not enter the device case properly, the cycle time can be significantly increased. In this case, you should:
- check the pressure in the tap;
- clean the filter mesh from possible clogging;
- check inlet valve operation.
Such actions will definitely help eliminate the problem with slow water intake.
Incorrect drain hose connection
Failure to comply with the rules when installing this part can cause constant circulation of fluid in the SMA housing, and consequently, a long wash. Once in the tank, part of it will slowly but continuously merge into the sewer. Therefore, the machine will be forced to constantly compensate for the drained amount by a set of a new portion.
To avoid this situation, the installation of the device must be carried out according to the operating instructions.
Drain system clogging
If the machine freezes during the rinse or during the spin cycle, the outflow of dirty liquid is likely to be impaired. In this case, you need to check the drain filter, nozzles and pipes for the possible presence of dirt and debris. Thorough cleaning will solve the problem, and it is better to replace the pipes.
Damage to the drain pump (pump) may cause drainage failure. It is better to replace it with a new one, since after repair, a worn part is unlikely to work for a long time.
Pressostat failure
The machine will constantly pour water in case of a malfunction of the pressure switch, which controls the presence or absence of it in the tank. The sensor will no longer be able to transmit a signal to the control board that there is enough fluid and the flow should be stopped. As a result of this, surplus is formed in the tank, which will go through the drain hose, creating a continuous water cycle.
Heating element malfunction
Often TEN ceases to work properly due to the scale formed on it. Then the water heats up very slightly (or does not heat up at all) and it fails to reach the temperature set by the program. And if one of the conditions of the programmed cycle is not fulfilled, the washer will not receive instructions to continue the cycle and will freeze. In order for the electric heater to start working correctly, often the usual descaling is enough. But if the heater has worn out, it is better to replace it.
To prevent a recurrence of the situation, regularly use special descaling agents. Such preventive measures significantly extend the life of the heating elements.
Control Module Failure
If the washer works as it should (erases, rinses, squeezes), but after the completion of one cycle it immediately starts a second one, then the problem lies in the control board. If an electronics failure occurs, the AGR will not recognize the end of the wash cycle and will automatically start a new one. This situation is dangerous not only for the technology itself, but also for delicate things, which are washed according to a strictly defined time.
Error Codes
A good helper in determining the breakdown of an automatic machine is error codes, which are more likely to appear on the scoreboard, notifying of a failure.
If the drainage system in the Indesit CMA is damaged, F-05 will appear on the display.
F-04 or F-10 will notify of a malfunction of the pressure switch. At the same time, a signal will be sent to the control module that the tank is empty and full at the same time. But the error H20 in Ariston machines can indicate several breakdowns at once: a malfunction in the control board, lack of fluid supply or its self-draining.
If the tank does not fill up in the allotted time to a certain level or, conversely, it filled up faster than the set time period, the LG washer will generate a PE error. Then the reason must be sought in the pressure switch or check the water pressure in the water supply.
Each washer has its own error marking. A complete list of them is in the instruction manual of the device. But if the electronics broke, the breakdown code will not be displayed, which means that you will have to look for the malfunction yourself.
When you need specialist help
With clogged filters, hoses or replacing them, if you have certain skills, it is quite possible to cope on your own. But internal damage without involving a master is unlikely to be repaired. Therefore, it is better not to take risks, but to entrust the repair to a specialist. The only way to help the master is to report an error code on the CMA display (if it is highlighted). So the specialist will be aware in advance of the essence of the problem and will be able to take the necessary tools and spare parts with him. And this will significantly speed up the process of diagnosis and repair of the washing machine.
