Correct connection of the commutator motor
Whatever the engine power of the automatic machine, it must be properly controlled. Therefore, it is important to be able to adjust the speed.
We will figure out how to connect a collector motor and determine the wires of the tachometer, which acts as a speed regulator.
- In some motors, the conclusions of the stator and rotor can be determined by color. As shown in the photo below, the first two wires of white color are tacho outputs. They do not need to be connected yet. Red and brown - the stator wire, gray and green - the rotor.
- To make sure, call the wires with a multimeter, looking for pairs. The working winding shows less resistance, while the outputs of the tachogenerator (speed sensor) should show about 70 ohms.
- According to the scheme, connect the stator output to the rotor output, connect the remaining two wires to a 220 Volt network.

How to independently adjust the speed of the motor
How to regulate engine revolutions of a washing machine-automatic and semi-automatic? With your own hands, this can be done through a board (microcircuit) or a voltage regulator. We will analyze both methods in more detail.
Connection via regulator
To do this, you can use the swivel wheel, dimmer, trigger from the drill. This method will tell you how to increase or decrease the engine speed. That is, by turning the installed wheel, you can control the incoming voltage to the motor from the 220 Volt network.
Connection takes place according to the scheme:
- According to the scheme, one wire of the stator winding is connected by an anchor (rotor).
- Then one wire of the rotor is connected to the speed controller.
- The remaining wire of the stator and rotor is connected to a 220 Volt network.
Please note that before connecting, be sure to fix the motor. Because, turning on at full power, he can jump off the table.
Starting the engine, you will find that it is working at full strength. When you try to set the speed control with the wheel, you will notice that speed is immediately lost and the motor stops. That is, there can be no talk of normal operation.

Connection via board (microcircuit)
How to control the revolutions using the adjustment board? The tachogenerator is activated here. The sensor itself cannot control anything; it needs to be connected correctly. It is for this that a microcircuit is used. Connection is made according to the regulator circuit based on TDA 1085.
What revolutions can the motor make with this connection? From high to low. In this case, you will not need to rotate the regulator by hand, you can control the speed through the toggle switch.
If you try to create a load on the electric motor, then the speed will immediately decrease, and then resume with new power. This is because the sensor interacts with the board, sending a signal about a decrease in power.
