Is the dishwasher humming? Do not skip this "signal" of the technology about the problem. It is urgent to check the system and find out the cause of the noise. Damage can be quite serious, so we will step by step tell you how to check the car with our own hands.
Why the dishwasher began to buzz
After turning on the device, noise is heard, or, conversely, is there complete silence? There may be reasons for this:
- When you turn on the machine buzzes and does not pick up water. Check for water in the tap. Turn the shut-off valve: it may have been accidentally shut off.
- Press the hopper door tighter. With the door open, the cycle will not start, and water will not enter the chamber. This is done to protect against leakage. Technique can make a hum, but not work, or squeak while working.
- The inlet hose is pinched or clogged. Check that the hose is connected correctly: it must be aligned evenly without kinks. Disconnect it from the housing and inspect for blockage.
- If the appliance starts to buzz during operation, check the installation of the machine, as well as the location of the dishes in the baskets.
The causes of the most complex breakdowns when the machine is buzzing, cracking, but not working, are:
- breakdown of the drain pump;
- pump bearing wear;
- breakdown of the circulation pump;
- intake valve malfunction.
If the noise level rises, immediately disconnect the PMM from the network and proceed with the test.
Check and restore the dishwasher
You need to start the inspection with parts that could become clogged during the washing process. This leads to the fact that Bosch (Bosch), Ariston dishwashers make noise and creak during startup.
Sprayer and impeller
If you have built-in appliances, before starting work it is better to pull it out of the closet and turn off all communications.
- Open the hopper door.
- Remove the baskets for dishes.
- Remove sprayers and rinse under running water. Clean the nozzles with a toothpick.
- Unscrew the drain filter and the mesh behind it. Clean out debris under the tap. By doing this after each wash, you can avoid clogging.
If a crack is heard during operation, it is a pump. Normally, it should work quietly. But if solid objects or fragments of dishes get into the impeller, operation may be blocked.
How to check the impeller of a pump:
- scoop out water from the filter seat;
- pull the flap to the side and then towards yourself;
- check the impeller: put on gloves and clean it from debris.
Intake valve
When water is drawn in, the machine makes noise, but the flow does not enter the hopper. What does it mean? Most likely, the filling valve has broken. When you turn it on, you can even hear clicks, as if the part is trying to work.
There is an element in the lower part of the body. Replacing the valve is easy: just unscrew the screw and disconnect the wiring. To check the mechanical part, an operating voltage is applied to the part to check whether the valve opens or not.
To diagnose the electronic part, the probes of the multimeter are connected to the contacts and the resistance is measured.
Pump bearing
With frequent use, the circulation unit bearing wears out quickly. This will take only 2-3 years. According to experts, the newer the model, the weaker the graphite bearings.
Due to production, the pump starts to make noise and buzz. Therefore, do not delay the repair.
Remove the pump immediately:
- Disconnect the machine from the network and communications.
- Open the door and remove the baskets from the tank.
- Remove the drain filter.
- Remove the five screws around the filter.
- Turn the dishwasher “on its back”.
- Unscrew the pan (if any).
- Loosen the clamps and remove the pipes and hoses from the unit.
- Disconnect the wiring.
- Pull the unit up and off the hooks.
You can start disassembling the circulation pump:
- Disconnect the heater block.
- Remove the impeller and anchor.
- Using tweezers, remove the bearing, as well as the rubber gasket behind it.
- If the bearing is worn out and the workout is visible, it must be replaced urgently.
- The gasket can not be changed if it is in good condition.
Install a new bearing and fold the unit in the reverse order.
When the circulation pump works and does not turn off, the problem is in the control board. The triac that controls the unit does not work. This means that the board cannot signal a shutdown to the pump.
You can inspect the electronic module yourself, but the master should be engaged in diagnostics and repair.
Drain pump
After checking the circulation unit, you understand that something is buzzing again in the car. If the noise starts when the water is drained, then you need to remove the pump. How to disassemble a dishwasher, you already know.
Disconnect the drain pump from the unit and measure the resistance with a multimeter. If the resistance is OK, then disassemble the part and check each element. The pump is not expensive, so there are no difficulties in replacing it.
