A resident of Yakutsk suffered from the negligence of the service technicians who repaired her refrigerator, and a couple of months later it exploded right in the hostess's kitchen. Only after an examination and familiarization with its results, the company agreed to indemnify the victim. This was reported by the local television channel "Yakutia 24" with reference to the Rospotrebnadzor in the republic.
It all started a couple of months ago when a resident of Yakutsk turned to a service company for repairing household appliances complaining of loud noise made by the refrigerator during operation. After diagnosis, the master issued a verdict: fan replacement is required.
Although the equipment was not new, purchased back in 2012, it was still cheaper to repair it than to look for a replacement for it. But a couple of months after installing the new spare part, the refrigerator just exploded in front of the owners. Fortunately, the daughter of the mistress at the time of the fire was nearby, so she was able to quickly eliminate the fire.
But the service department refused not only to compensate the damage to its client, but also to acknowledge its involvement in the incident. The victim still managed to protect her rights by contacting the “Consumers Union of Yakutia”. The organization’s experts easily identified a source of ignition and determined the cause of the explosion. It turned out to be precisely the engine fan, which the customer service replaced not so long ago. The company decided not to wait for the client to go to court for compensation, and indemnified the damage voluntarily by paying the cost of the equipment and other related expenses.
