Is your dishwasher shocking? Having decided to get dishes from the chamber, you touched the walls with wet hands and got a light discharge? If this happens, do not close your eyes to the problem. The dishwasher can be electric shock if it is connected incorrectly, there is a problem with the network cable or the internal device. How to calculate and fix the problem, read on.
Working with electricity is quite dangerous, so think before you start it.
Why PMM is shocking
Some element of the dishwasher breaks through the body, for this reason you can feel a light discharge. An old technique that has long served faithfully can be shortened by damage to internal elements. What could it be:
- Damage to the wiring inside the housing.
- Faulty heater or start relay.
- Engine is broken.
To check, you have to disassemble the dishwasher and inspect every detail.
If the new PMM that you recently installed in the kitchen beats current, the reason is the electrician:
- The equipment is connected to an outlet without grounding.
- The machine is turned on through an adapter or carrying, and not directly to an outlet.
- The socket is out of order.
The use of such powerful household appliances as a dishwasher is unacceptable without grounding, which protects the user from electric shock.
According to safety precautions, PMM Bosch, Ariston, Electrolux and other brands must be connected to a moisture-proof Euro outlet. Extension cords and tees must not be used. It is also not recommended to connect the dishwasher in the same outlet with an electric stove.
Did you connect the car in accordance with all the rules, but did you feel the discharge of current? Then check the socket contacts. If they are oxidized, it is enough to clean them.
It is known that a technique such as a washing machine or dishwasher needs to be connected via a difavtomat (RCD), or a voltage stabilizer should be installed. To establish an electrical network, it is better to consult a specialist.
How to check the internal elements of the technique, read below.
What to do to eliminate the causes of breakdown on the case
It takes a little disassembly of the machine to check the details. Start by inspecting the heater (heater):
- Disconnect the equipment from the network and communications.
- Open the door and remove the basket.
- Unscrew the drain filter, pull out the rocker.
- Remove the screws in the pan near the filter. They fasten the circulation unit.
- Lay a blanket or towel. Flip the PMM onto the back wall.
- Unscrew the screws or unfasten the latches around the perimeter of the bottom cover.
- Removing the cover, you will find the circulation pump and the parts that are attached to it.
- Disconnect the pipe and wiring from the heater.
- Visually inspect the heater. You can check in saline. For this, the heater is lowered into the solution and the resistance is measured with a multimeter. However, only the master can accurately determine the damage.
- Replace the defective heater with a new one.
Important! Only select genuine parts for your dishwasher model. So the technique will last longer without breakdowns.
You can diagnose in a simpler way. For this:
- Set the ohmmeter mode on the multimeter.
- Connect probes to heater contacts.
- If the heater is working, the device will display 21-22 ohms on the screen.
- Now attach one probe to the contact and the other to the housing. Is the resistance endless? So the heater is fine.
Diagnose correctly. When measuring resistance, all parts, including the heater, must be dry. Otherwise, the machine will work, and the readings will be inaccurate.
It remains to check the engine and wiring. While the machine is disassembled, inspect each wire, connection. If you notice a breakdown in insulation, replace the element immediately. Engine diagnostics are also carried out with a multimeter, only the winding is checked. If a break is detected in it, it will be cheaper to completely replace the block than to give it to rewind.
Always adhere to safety rules when working with equipment:
- Do not touch the metal casing with wet hands when the appliance is plugged in.
- Do not place the dishwasher in a humid place.
- Do not turn on the device if you notice damage to insulation, plugs, sockets.
If your dishwasher is shocking, you now know what to do. Be careful when disconnecting the PMM from the network before starting work.
